Opportunities may include greeting attendees, assisting with community art activities, sharing approved public information, supporting cultural engagement areas and helping visitors locate festival services.
Volunteer assignments are subject to availability, age requirements, safety considerations and approval by the designated volunteer-program partner. Submitting this application does not guarantee acceptance, a particular assignment or a specific number of service hours.

WHAT VOLUNTEERS CAN EXPECT
Community Experience
Participate in cultural and community-engagement activities while learning how large public festivals connect residents, organizations and local resources.
Verified Service Hours
Approved volunteers who complete their assigned shifts and properly check in and out may request verification of completed community-service hours.
Letters of Recognition or Recommendation
A general service-recognition letter may be available to volunteers who successfully complete their commitments. Individual letters of recommendation are not automatic and may be considered based on service hours, performance, reliability and direct supervisor observation.
Community Connections
Meet volunteers, community organizations and residents from different cities and cultural backgrounds.
IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Volunteer opportunities are unpaid and are intended solely for approved charitable, educational, civic or community-service activities administered by the designated nonprofit or public-agency partner.
Volunteers will not be assigned to replace paid California Culture Festival production employees or contractors. Core event-production work, commercial vendor operations, professional stage production and other duties that legally require paid workers are not included in this volunteer program.
Volunteers must:
• Complete only their approved assignment and follow supervisor instructions.
• Arrive on time and remain for the full confirmed shift.
• Check in and check out to receive service-hour verification.
• Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes.
• Follow all safety, conduct and emergency instructions.
• Notify the volunteer coordinator as soon as possible if they cannot attend.
• Avoid operating vehicles, powered equipment or restricted machinery unless specifically authorized, trained and legally permitted.
Most activities take place outdoors. Assignments, schedules and event operations may change because of weather, safety requirements or operational needs.
Volunteers under 18 must provide parent or legal-guardian information and any required consent forms. Age restrictions may apply to particular assignments.
California Culture Festival and its partners do not guarantee admission to the program, a specific assignment, a minimum number of hours or an individual letter of recommendation.
PHOTO AND VIDEO NOTICE
Festivals are public events where photography and video recording may occur. By participating, approved volunteers authorize the event organizers and participating community partners to photograph or record them during event activities and to use those images or recordings for event documentation, publicity and promotional purposes, subject to any required parent or guardian consent for minors.
